Hey guys, Aldi Supermarkets have an ever changing range of "Special Buys" which come out every Wednesday & Saturday (stores normally open 8:30am, sometimes you need to get in quick to get some of the items to avoid disappointment as items can sometimes sell out as quickly as 10 minutes)
Now I'll do my best to keep an eye on what's coming out and let you guys know in advance if possible, mainly I'll only post fish related things, or things related to the hobby: lighting, filters, odds & ends, tools, umm pretty much anything, so let me know if there's something you want me to keep an eye on for you guys, I can let you know if and when it comes in, I'll try and keep it updated as best I can and keep it interesting with as much info on the items as possible: such as Brand, Price, size/weight, voltage/wattage if possible, but I don't think I'll provide pictures, I may provide links to the Aldi Website for certain items if that works...

I bought 4 of these 4ft T8 LED light fittings myself the other day, and i've done my research, all of the T8 fittings come in 2,4 & 5 foot globes and will replace any standard T8 globe, to my understanding a standard 4ft T8 uses 36 Watts and produces only 865 Lumens, so in comparison the same size LED globe uses 18 Watts and produces 1700 Lumens, so by my maths that's half the power consumption and twice the light output, also with a 30,000 hr lifetime on these globes, you may very well get 5-30 years out of these globes, depending on how long you use them each day manufacturers specs:(lifetime 30 years at around 2.7 hours/day, rated to 15,000 on/off switches over lifetime, colour: 4000K neutral white, (18kWh/1000h)
Also at $24.99 (2ft, 4ft,5ft doesnt matter they're all $24.99) they are a steal! I priced a local electrical distributor for a 4ft T8 LED globe and they quoted me $68!  definitely worth checking out your local Aldi for the 2 & 4ft T8 LED's, does anyone even have a 5ft T8? I've never seen them, are they common elsewhere?
