How much sand!

Hey guys and girls,

i'm changing my tank over from gravel to sand and i am unsure on the amount of sand i am going to need. The tank is a standard 6ft. any help would be greatly appreciated!

About 50kg of pool filter sand should adequately cover a 6ft tank. You really don't want to have any more than a couple inches when using sand as it is more prone to toxic dead spots where stuff decomposes to form hydrogen sulfide.

i just did my 6ft tank and two 20kg pool filter bags was plenty
